Welcome
Oxford City Korfball Club was set up in 1992 and has become the biggest club in Oxfordshire with three teams and around 30 regular players. We play all year round, indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer. We compete in local league and cup competitions with clubs from Abingdon, Oxford University, Didcot, & Milton Keynes, as well as tournaments around the country.

You've got this far and aren't sure what Korfball is?
Korfball is a unique mixed team sport that men and women play together, with similarities to netball, basketball, and handball, but very different. It's fast-moving and skillful, for players of all ages (we range from early 20s to 40s) and various abilities (no experience at all, to 15+ years), and it's competitive yet friendly.

Want to find out more or give it a go, the first four sessions are FREE!

Oxford City is on tour! - See calendar for details of training

Oxford City's 'historic' training venue is having a much needed total refit.
So in the next few weeks please see the 'City on Tour' calendar including socials, friendlies, matches and circuit training sessions to fill the korfball-sized gap on your Thursdays. Further information will follow about the socials and at all the circuit training sessions there will be committee members there at least, so don't worry about turning up and being the only one!
Please note that subs during this period will go towards paying for our attendance at the other clubs and we will cover the cost of at least the first three circuit sessions.

City 1 vs Abingdon 1 27.11.11

We were clearly in charge right from the start, but we could not be complacent as they have some very good players. The game developed (early in the first half) with us scoring more than them (just), but then the score opened up until we were way ahead with a 9-3 score at half time. The final 16-4 score indicated that the second half score was 7-1.
They could have scored more as many of their shots bounced around the inside of the basket and them out, but, even so, we would have beat them.

City 1 vs Uni 1 22.11.11

City 1 were coming off the back of a tense win against Reading and looking to keep up the winning streak. We started well, but let Uni score first, quickly levelling to 1-1.

City didn't get drawn into playing at Uni's pace, building strong solid attacks and recycling the ball well. Good pressure out of attack also meant that we won the ball back on many occasions. Our determination and disclipline was reflected ina  half time scoreline of 5-1 to City.

City 2 v Didcot

Great start to season. Passing and 4 - 0 was working really well, only a few occasions we were a bit static in attack later on in the game. We collected and recycled the ball really well leading to many opportunities. If I'm being picky, things to work on would include 1 on 1 attack’s, specifically being a bit more patient to build an attack, using more of the space in front of the post and using the post more to create space for yourself and others.

Regional League: OKA vs Horfield 2.10.11

What an explosive start to the Regional League, Oxfordshire Korfball Association vs Horfield (Sunday 2nd October). The athletic mix of Oxford City, Oxford Isis and Abingdon players performed really well as a team seeing us 9-4 up at half time with goals distributed across the team. With our game heads on right from the start our recycling in attack was superb with some great rebound shots. Only 1 goal from the opposition in the first half was in open play.
